Appearance

Shadowed, androgynous features peer out from under a heavy fall of faded green, twisted dreadlocks bedecked with tiny white blooms, delicate roots clinging tight amidst metal band and bone alike. Just as fragile blossoms entangle their hair, so too do the ritualistic marks upon their flesh. Three vertical 'slash' marks adorn their chin and their forehead at their hairline, and a line of dots bisect their face just under their eyes and across the bridge of their nose, from one temple to the other. Tattoos band their fingers and arms, entwine their legs, with a final pronouncement upon their back; a gnarled tree with grisly branches and grasping roots that stretches from shoulders to buttocks.A fanged earring dangles from each tufted ear, and at first glance would appear to be a prize plucked from the jaws of a beast. If one were perceptive enough, they might actually recognize that they are, in fact, Miqo'te incisors, and not from an animal's maw at all.Upon a word or brief smile, pointed, filed teeth flash against darkened flesh. White against dusk, only to be shuttered behind plush lips that curl with the ghost of a smile. Eyes reminiscent of the dark wood mirror their mood; a gleam with their humor or a glimmer with malice. But always, always a smile of greeting.A pointed smile with teeth.

Mannerisms & Speech

Words fall from their lips in quiet tones, a soft cadence with rolling R's common among the Shroud. The gentle lilt to their voice is faint. Though a slight accent is evident, there is nothing so obvious as to identify it.Their motions are slow and deliberate, as calculated as they wield words; every action has a purpose. Every word holds weight. Impulse is not common for this Keeper, and their guarded behavior would avail the curious very little meat to sink their teeth into.

Background

Few words of home escape the Keeper, secrets best kept close to the chest and hidden behind pointed teeth. The rare mention of it results in conflicting tales of a 'cursed wood' within the darkened swamps of the southern Black Shroud, or the hidden worlds within caverns at the southernmost tip of Thanalan.Whither they hail from, they bring their knowledge of the occult to the more populated locales of Eorzea and beyond. Similar to the spirit of tarot, it is known among certain circles that they have a talent for reading runic bones for any who inquire.To what end, however, is in the hands of the one that sits on the other side of the table.
